Women on The Water
Featuring a New Series on The Great Outdoorswoman
As a Montana based landscape painter and outdoorswoman, I am excited to share my new series, Women on The Water.
From backpacking into the mountains and fishing the high-country lakes, floating the rivers, and dropping the anchor of my boat to catch the sunset and rise over the water, I naturally and continuously observe the special effects of nature and the subjects that represent the great outdoors.
Recently, I have realized how rarely women are referenced in western landscape/sporting art and it is certainly not due to a lack of women out living the lifestyle. Being an artist and a woman that is surrounded by women that live for outdoor recreation, it feels natural and inspiring to begin a new series that represents the great outdoorswoman.
Throughout this spring/summer 2019 and beyond I will have many new works that reference the mothers, daughters, grandmothers, sisters, and friends that spend their time out fishing, boating, camping, rafting, hiking, hunting, and enjoying the landscape.
